Roots to Grooves – Saba

Welcome to our weekly podcast “Roots to Grooves”.
Each episode explores the music, life and careers of musical artists from their earliest beginnings through to their most recent releases.

On this episode Jay and Jesse discuss the career and creative approaches of American rapper and record producer “Saba”.

“Saba” (aka Tahj Malik Chandler) grew up in the Austin neighborhood of the West Side of Chicago.

Growing up in a musical family, it wasn’t long before Saba started crafting his own music, teaching himself music production and setting up an early home recording studio in his Grandma’s basement.

Saba has also collaborated with other rising talent out of Chicago, including “Noname”, “Smino” and “Chance The Rapper”.

Saba puts a focus on the emotion, vibe of a track and the authenticity of what he is saying.

Join us as we deep dive into his career and music.
